Biggest walleye, biggest pike, best sky

Angler Terry Kopecky has been coming to Bow Narrows Camp for years but this year got her biggest walleye and northern pike ever. She also shot this photo of the dramatic clouds we have had the last few evenings.

Are the colors from the fires?

Maybe. We often get hot-pink sunsets which can reflect onto the clouds. That is usually the best "red sky at night, sailor's delight" prediction of a sunny day the next day. However, this week we would have both hot-pink sunsets followed by a hot-pink sunrise which would have meant "red sky in morning, sailors take warning." You can't have both in 12 hours; so, maybe it was the forest fires burning about 10 miles to the west. They should be history now as we finally got a soaking rain yesterday.
